This screen was commissioned by the West Mercia Police for the Hereford Police Station.  The theme set by the client was community growth and the history of Hereford. The inspiration was the old stone bridge across the river Wye, which runs through the center of the city. The river formed the old border with Wales and the bridge is a symbolic and actual link between the two countries and cultures.  A motif of reflected circles and river ripples suggests the cycles of growth and change in Herefords past while the enduring triangular supports show the strength and perseverance of  co-operation and community.
